Carpet Flooring

It is the material that consists of textile material and is used for covering the flooring in general. The most preferred textile floor coverings are carpets.

Carpets are classified in two groups according to the structuring in TS 5627:

Apart from this, they are also classified as handcrafted carpets and machine carpets. Today, machine carpets are used more widely. The usage areas of machine carpets are in hotels, restaurants, offices, etc., apart from residences. collective living spaces. Handmade carpets are mostly used in residences. Since machine carpets are generally produced in 4 m width and continuous tape, they can be applied to any size floor by sewing them in a way that the joints will not be visible or by sticking the bottoms of the joints to the flooring. These carpets are produced as plain or in the desired pattern as pure wool, polyester, polyethyl or wool mixed polyester. The pile height (the height of the fiber part of the carpet) can be 8-13 mm and the lower faces are formed by applying a polymer emulsion under the jute canvas, foam, rubber or jute canvas.

Carpet flooring with rubber soles are used in places where impact sound is not desired, especially since they do not produce impact sound. Since the ones that are completely made of polyester or similarly artificial fiber do not pass the static electricity to the floor mat under the carpet, they cause static electricity accumulation on those who walk on them. In general, it should be known that the difficulty in cleaning such carpets increases with the increase in pile height, and it should be considered that it is inconvenient to use them in places where hygiene is important.

Machine carpets are produced in two types as long pile (pile) and short pile (pile). Long pile carpets are more durable. For this reason, these carpets are used in places where more people live, rather than in residences. Carpets need to be protected from certain factors in order to be used for a long time. Contamination, fiber shedding, feathering, staining, cigarette burns are the main factors that cause the carpet to lose its appearance.
